2024 IBC Commercial Plan Review [multiple tracks – Building Code & Plan Review]
Explains the process of conducting a commercial plan review for small/medium sized commercial projects. The one-day class will cover the building code portion of review based on the International Building Code. Discussion will include assigning occupancy groups, checking allowable height and area, Looking at occupancy specific issues amongst many other topics. Class will also discuss efficiently using the code to perform your plan review. The class will discuss different methods and resources necessary to perform a successful review. This is not a code introduction class, but it is intended for beginner to intermediate level commercial plan reviewers and also serves as a good reminder for those who have been at it for a while.

WEDNESDAY-FULL DAY
2024 IBC Means of Egress
This class is a basic overview of the means of egress requirements included in Chapter 10 of the International Building Code. The presentation will include detailed discussions on the design of the means of egress in buildings. Subjects included in the class are the three parts of the means of egress including occupant loads, egress width, number of exits, travel distance, common path of egress travel and exit enclosures. Practical examples will be used to illustrate code requirements.

2024 IBC Update and Significant Changes
Reviews the changes from the last edition to the current edition of the International Building Code. The background behind many of the changes will be discussed to provide the participants with an understanding of the intent of the changes and how to apply it to their everyday work. Subjects covered in the class will include the code change process, mixed occupancies, atriums, accessible means of egress and many more.

FRIDAY-FULL DAY
2024 IBC Alternate Materials and Methods of Construction
This full day class reviews the use of the alternate materials and methods requirements of the codes. It covers the code requirements for alternates and the class will review the use of ICC evaluation reports. Different types of materials and methods will be discussed. Examples of how those materials and methods should be evaluated will be provided to attendees who will have a better understanding of how to review or submit alternates.
