As President of the Houston Chapter of the ICC, I am honored to invite you to the Region X Construction Code Summit 2026, taking place on Thursday, May 28, 2026, at the Houston Permitting Center.
We are currently navigating a pivotal moment in our profession. Between the adoption of the 2024/2027 ICC model building codes and the looming 2027 Legislative Session, the decisions we make today will define our region’s resilience and regulatory landscape for the next decade.
Why Your Participation is Important:
- 2027 Legislative Intelligence: Gain a direct preview of the 2027 legislative trends in Texas, Arkansas, and Oklahoma—including state-level housing affordability mandates, regulatory preemption, 3D printed homes, single-stair buildings and more.
- National ICC Support: Hear from several ICC Board Directors including Mike Savage, Secretary/Treasurer, Director Andre Jaen, Section C Director, and Rachel Parrish, Director At-Large on how the ICC Board is supporting local chapters in facing national issues like workforce shortages and upcoming 2027 construction codes.
- Regional “Border-Consistency” Exchange: Participate in a group discussion with colleagues throughout our region to align local amendments and reduce friction for the development community.
